All by myself

I am all by my lonesome with these four animals. You'd think I would get a lot of knitting/crafting/job hunting done.Nope. I did apply for a couple of jobs. When is the point in our lives where we decide to stop having fun and to start working. Does anyone have a job that they think is amazing and just fun? Yeah, they do. But not most people I know. Not anyone in my family. Most Koreans for SURE don't have fun at work.

That's my new look by the way. Chronic hood pulled over face. Sort of like this here too.


If you're wondering what that face is, it's me trying to be serious. And failing. Brooklyn looks terrifying though. But srsly- the look will catch on, I promise. Hoods-4-lyfe.

Kitten Update

So, here's another picture of the Wonder Kitten. We aren't going to keep her- we are going to find a home for her, but I'm having a lot of fun taking care of her while she's little in the meantime. :) Chevy absolutely adores her, it's sickening how cute they are. She plays with his feet and he just gives her kisses.

She's very young so we got a bottle and some kitten formula and have been feeding her that along with kitty soft food. It's so fun taking care of something so helpless. I'm bein' mama bear for now and love it.

New Friend

So I was letting Chevy go to the bathroom and I came back in and heard this loud cat crying noise. I panicked, thinking it was one of my cats and ran back upstairs. I flung the door open and both cats were calmly laying there. I still heard the cat crying so I look out in the hall and this small creature comes scurrying by my feet- just yowling.

This is what I saw. So, being the sap that I am- I took her in- gave her several baths as she was flea infested, and gave her some kitten flea medicine. Chevy is in love with her, the other cats have a ways to go- but they've all taken their flea preventative as well as a precaution. I'm not sure if we're going to keep this little wonder- but she sure is cute.

This is the hat I made for Mr. Rockit for Christmas. You like it? It's really bright- so I never lose him in the city crowd. :) There's some big news budding, but I have to wait to announce it before I know for sure! And no, I'm not pregnant.

2010

Happy New Year!!!

I know that's late, but I've been busy with the holidays- and I've got international guests here from England so I've been trying to keep them entertained as well! Life's been great so far in 2010, so I can't complain.

Lots of new things to think about- new projects budding in my brain- but of course I haven't started on anything yet. Thinking about where I was in life one year ago- sheesh. Life was a lot more complicated back then, it's nice to simplify and cut out the bad things isn't it?

Cut it out like Uncle Jesse folks- cut it out.

Chevy Loves his sweaters

Yet another dog sweater. It's getting absolutely freezing here, so Chevy needs some warmth ok? Don't hate!

Seriously though he hates wearing sweaters. I think it's funny. But he shivers outside without them.

Recycled Sweater

So I made Chevy another sweater out of an old mens' sweater. It's totally simple, hand sewn- really unattractive actually but it was an attempt at an original. Held together by a Christmas pin before I sew it. Chevy looks terrified as always. But hey! It's eco friendly!The material was just taken from the sleeve. I can make so many!

Gratitude

I'm so excited for the feedback I'm getting! Thank you Sew Mama Sew, for this brilliant giveaway idea! I always thought my little monsters were cute, but never knew there'd be such a demand for them! I'm going to have to get my bum in gear and get this etsy show on the road so I can start selling them to everyone who wants one!

Found out today I'm not going home to my parents' for Christmas. Sad news, but the amount of money it will cost is a little absurd, so I'm telling myself this is best. I'll be here, with Mr. Rockit, and our own Christmas we will have with the animals.

Finished a plate in Ceramics, can't wait to bring home my cupcake dish that's being glaze fired right now!

My loves

Just having a lazy Sunday afternoon with my love and my laptop. Working on the giveaway prizeee, which I'm slightly anxious about, because no one reads this blog except me. That's okay. If no one else reads it, then no one will know that no one reads this. ahaha.


These are some little amigurumi office buddies I made. I gave the right one to Bethany for her birthday, but this is along the lines of what I'm thinking for the giveaway. The purple one keeps Mr. Rockit company.

Ew

Yesterday Chevy sniffed out a centipede. Gross. Those creatures and I have a long standing feud. Fight to the death. There was the time I had a faceoff with one in the Miniapple Montessori kitchen, and I won (thank you), and the time I encountered one in the hallway and we danced a battle tango. Yes, I very strongly dislike those guys. Least favorite bug. Ever. I even can stand spiders more, at least they are cunning and useful. Centipedes are just nasty.

I just google image searched centipede to show you a picture, but was so grossed out and just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Besides that, I'm feeling sewing machine withdrawal. I keep thinking of all these great home decoration projects for the empty space, but I can't do anything! I feel like I've lost my daemon (Golden Compass reference).

But I have decided, I'm going to make a pseudo fireplace :D because then I can pretend I live in a cabin.

Good Morning Sun

So first, is a finished product picture of the light blue cabled sweater I was working on for Chevy Monster.

Pretty quick knit up, if I had actually sat and done it all at once.

Started another sweater for him, I'm going to see how fast I can crank these out and start putting them on etsy.

Today on the agenda is to take my car to the shop and say FIX ME. I'm so sick of this darn car, seriously. It's such a headache. 2 weeks ago someone takes out my driver's side mirror going like 700 in a 35 at 5 in the morning. This week the tire is flat so we change it to a spare, and lo and behold my battery is dying and refuses to start half of the time without a jump.

We drove it here because we didn't have any other choices, but I'm wishing we looked harder for alternatives.

Not going home for Thanksgiving, but I suppose this is my new home. Lots of food with friends though, that is for sure. :D

I'm thankful for my lovely friends and boyfriend, and for making this move quite adjustable and smooth. What are you thankful for?

Things are looking swell

I have all this lovely free time, so I figure it's about time to make the most of things and get bettyrockit off the ground. So I'm going to start my massive attempt ( at least that's what I'm forecasting) at starting bettyrockit and selling my stuff. Park Slope and Manhattanites eat it up. And anyone else for that matter that would like custom made dog and childrens' sweaters as well as gifts for the holidays made from all recycled materials. We'll see how far this goes.
